Job Description

A qualified Chartered Educational Psychologist with substantial experience, you are a natural leader committed to joint working with other agencies and developing Aberdeenshire Educational Psychology Service.

As Depute Principal Educational Psychologist you will lead an enthusiastic and committed team of psychologists and clerical support staff, and you will be a member of the Aberdeenshire Educational Psychology Service Senior Leadership Team. Under the leadership of the Principal Educational Psychologist you will contribute to planning and policy development in the Psychology Service, Education and Children’s Services and the Council as a whole. This post offers an excellent opportunity for career development and an enhanced quality of life. It can be based in Stonehaven or Peterhead - negotiable.

It is a material condition of employment for this post that the employee holds a current full driving licence and has a car available, whenever required, in order to undertake the full range of duties of the post.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
