About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to drive sustainable organisational strategy, delivering person-centred outcomes which enable citizen choice. You will report to the Executive Director, as the Head of Children’s Services within the Communities and Families Directorate at the City of Edinburgh Council.
Responsible for developing the strategic direction, policy and practice for a number of key services including:children’s social work practice teams, including child protection children with disabilities – social work looked after children special schools additional support for learning.
As part of your responsibilities for these key services you will ensure:consistency of approach effective integration of services delivery of outcomes cost-efficient working communication is facilitated across sectors.
In this role, you will also fulfil the role of agency decision-maker and other statutory children’s social work functions.
