Job Description

The Department of Information Technology wishes to appoint a Desktop Support Engineer. You should have the ability to work with staff at all levels across a multi campus organisation to support I.T. Services. A leadership role in working with the I.T. Team to set best practice and standards of desktop and application delivery to over 3000 desktops within the organisation.

The post holder would liaise with teaching and administrative staff to agree which applications are required to be deployed, on which machines.

Expert knowledge of the windows operating system and operating system and application deployment techniques is required. You should have an in depth knowledge of active directory and group policy, with an ability to write server side scripts. You should possess an HND in an appropriate subject, or significant relevant experience within the I.T. Services area. Experience of working in an educational environment is desirable.
The college runs windows server 2012, with a mix of windows 7 enterprise and windows 10, over three campuses.
