Location: Aberdeen Music School (Dyce Academy)
Duration : Permanent
Hours: 25 hours per week. There is a three week rolling rota, which covers days, evenings and weekends as the service requires.
To provide a comprehensive child care service to young people of secondary school age who board (term-time) at Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
PVG scheme member, or willingness to obtain before a formal offer of employment is made.
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Ability and proven experience of relating to young people of secondary school age.
Ability to effectively challenge a range of behaviours as a result of working with groups/individuals.
Ability to work in partnership with families, colleagues and other professionals.
Ability to produce written records and reports which will require basic IT skills.
Effective approach to problem solving.
The post holder will be expected to:
Provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment for young people who use the service.
Promote and protect the welfare of the young people by assisting in the assessment of need and risk in collaboration with colleagues, parents and other professionals.
Assist in formulating, implementing and adapting personal plans in partnership with colleagues, young people and families, adopting a multi-agency approach.
Operate as an accountable member of the staff team and contribute to the development of the service through participation in team meetings.
