Job Description Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Working 23 hours per week, this is a Fixed Term post for 4 years. Requirements You will hold a HND qualification in sport or related workplace experience. Responsibilities The Club Development & Pathways Officer will drive forward the development of athletics in Dundee and will provide day-to-day leadership within Dundee Hawkhill Harriers, working alongside the Committee, membership and partners to develop and where appropriate enhance the following core areas: club development plan, procedures and policies (including legal status), support and develop the club committee and management structure, improve marketing and communication, implement new financial and membership systems - ultimately resulting in a seven day a week club business. The officer will continue to create and continue to develop a thriving development structure within Dundee, focusing on recruiting and developing volunteers and fostering athlete pathways ensuring a vibrant athletics club sits at the centre of sustainable athletics development within the community of Dundee. Within this there will be a specific focus to increase opportunities for underrepresented groups especially focusing on getting the inactive active and enhancing opportunities for inclusive athletics. The Individual You will have experience of working within a volunteer club environment, experience of working effectively with partners and experience and knowledge of working with volunteers. You will have knowledge and understanding of issues affecting athletics/sport clubs. You will have experience of initiating, developing, supervising and evaluating projects and experience of managing people. IT skills and experience, as well as the ability to establish goals, are essential. A full Driving Licence is essential and you must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekend work where required. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
