Duration: Permanent, Part Time, 24 Hours per Week (2 x 12 Hour Shifts)
Location: Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence
To work as part of a team and take responsibility for the delivery of high quality care to the young people who board (term-time) at Aberdeen City Music School Hall of Residence. To provide a safe, consistent and caring environment that encourages and nurtures young people to develop positively and achieve their full potential.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
SSSC/GTC Registration or willing to become a member.
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG).
A SVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People) and HNC in Social Care or a social work or equivalent registerable qualification (See SSSC website) is preferable, but not essential.
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
The ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice and support as necessary.
Good practice; recognising support needs, promoting dignity and respect and exhibiting unconditional positive regard.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with young people, their families and other stakeholders.
The ability to advocate on behalf of young people by ensuring that their views are taken into account and that their rights are promoted and protected.
The ability to produce high quality written records and reports.
Good ICT skills.
