Job Description

You have a CQSW, Diploma in Social Work or CSS (in appropriate field) and have suitable experience working in a child care setting and of working with children and families. As well as familiarity with Child Protection Practices you also have the ability to work purposefully under pressure and as a team member.

Your workload will include working with Children in Need, Child Protection, and work with Looked after Children and their families. Supporting children with their family and in their community will be your main priority. 

Advancement to Senior Practitioner grade is dependent upon post qualifying training and experience, as part of career progression, and gives an opportunity to support staff with practice development. Please note that application for the Senior Practitioner Scheme is only possible where there is a Senior Practitioner vacancy within the team in which you are based.

We therefore intend to reflect on how our services are currently configured and as a result of this it may be that the current focus of this post within Children's Social Work Services will be subject to change

Successful candidates will be required to attend an Assessment Centre at Woodhill House on Tuesday 27th February 2018

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 28th February 2018

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
