About the role

As a Royal Mail Delivery Office Manager you’ll lead a team of line managers and specialists, developing your people through mentoring and one-to-one coaching. You’ll join us either as a shift manager in a large mail processing centre employing up to 1,000 people, or as delivery office manager where between 20 and 300 people work. Whichever you choose, you’ll drive performance and pursue the achievement of quality, financial, automation and employee targets and objectives, analysing data to identify improvement opportunities in specific work areas and teams. You’ll help uphold the standards that our customers expect and play a significant role in the transformation of your business unit into a world-class mail operation.

Hours:  Five days over six, Monday to Saturday (rota day off), Eight hours per day (approximate start 6.30am start 14.30pm finish with flexibility required)

About you

You could be working in any sector – like manufacturing, retail, or FMCG – and keen to apply what you’ve learned to a new environment. You’ll be a quick thinker with a passion for improvement, and a talent for motivation and communication. This isn’t for everyone – you’ll need to be capable of handling challenging situations and conversations with skill and tact, and able to persuade others to adopt new ways of thinking and working. But for the right kind of person, it offers huge opportunity for growth and development.

The closing date for applications is 11th February 2018.  Assessment Centres will be taking place between 26th February 2018 and 16th March 2018.


Your start date will be May 2018, with your first 8 weeks spent on a brand new induction programme which will introduce you to your new role and to Royal Mail Group. Please note, the induction programme will be held central location and therefore this may involve some overnight stays.
