Job Description

Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership

Care and Support Worker
Castle Crags

Salary: £17,191 - £19,877 (plus working time payments)
Hours: 36 per week

Edinburgh Support Services provide care and support to enable adults with Learning Disabilities to lead a meaningful life and participate in activities within their local community.

We are a city wide service that supports people to live in their own tenancies with Housing Support and Care at Home, and in addition we have a hub in South East Edinburgh called Castle Crags where individuals participate in Day Support activities and/or Short Breaks.

The individuals we support have complex needs in relation to their behaviours of concern or Autism.

Support is provided over seven days per week and these posts may involve occasional evening and weekend working as part of a planned rotational shift pattern.

The work the service undertakes can be challenging and we are committed to supporting staff to develop the practical skills required to enable an environment providing Positive Behaviour Support. We also invest in our staff team to gain the formal qualifications required for registration with Scottish Social Services Council and develop their future career.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
