Senior Project Manager
Water & Environment

Following 2 years of continued success and growth in Capita's Water and Environment team, we are expanding our teams across all levels to support our delivery of a variety of projects in the Rivers and Coastal sector whilst supporting our Water, Rail, Highways and Tunnels divisions. Our key clients include the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and other leading national and international infrastructure providers.
The Capita infrastructure division delivers projects in the UK and across the globe. We have successfully delivered many high profile projects including the award-winning Newhaven Flood Alleviation Scheme, Dalmuir Wastewater Treatment Works in Scotland and the £400M Shatin-Central Link Cross-Harbour Tunnels in Hong Kong.
We have recently won a £1M package of flood alleviation schemes in the Northwest of England and a number of site supervision contracts for flood alleviation schemes across the Southeast. Our pipeline of opportunities includes some of the most exciting major infrastructure projects in Europe, including HS2 Phases 1 and 2 and the Oosterwelt Link Immersed Tube Tunnel in Belgium.

The Role & Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to help us grow our team. As part of your role you will take responsibility for delivering successful bids for medium to large projects. You will also take responsibility for successfully project -manage and/or project-direct projects for the Environment Agency and other clients across England and Wales. Projects will include a variety of commissions in the Water and Environment sector. Your role will include managing both the client and the technical delivery in the office as well as taking responsibility for the delivery of the project to cost, quality and programme whilst maintaining overall commercial responsibility.

In addition to the above, you would be expected to be able to demonstrate excellence in some of the following technical areas:
- Experience of leading and supervising the preparation of outline designs, including drawings and specifications
- Coastal processes and technical solutions
- Economic analysis, including cost/benefit analysis; Outcome Measure; damages etc
- Public and stakeholder engagement
- Understanding of Flood and Coastal Risk Management sector
- ECC Project Manager experience (NEC)
As the successful candidate, you will hold a degree in a relevant field with significant experience in project management in the water and environment sector. Candidates with Mechanical and Electrical background will also be considered. You will be chartered with the relevant institution and/or hold relevant project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APM. Experience of working directly for the Environment Agency and be able to demonstrate knowledge of their processes and systems would be advantageous. You will be required to drive on behalf of the company to visit clients/sites etc and therefore a valid UK driving licence is essential.
