About the Role is the dedicated website for the SDS apprenticeship family. As an integral component of the SDS service delivery model, the online service enables employers and training providers to advertise apprenticeship opportunities and young people to search and apply for these opportunities.

Reporting to the Digital Development Manager, The Developer will work as part of an agile in-house development team and will also engage with other teams that are involved in the delivery of the overall product.

Working within a small team will give the successful candidate ample opportunity to help shape the solutions they will deliver, and work on a number of high profile projects.

This role fixed term until 31st March 2019 based in Glasgow City Centre.

About You

You'll have demonstrable work experience equivalent to SCQF level 7 or be educated to HNC level in a Computer Science subject or related discipline. You'll be a self-motivator with a ‘can do' attitude, be great at solving complex problems, and enjoy working with a small team and have a real influence in shaping digital products.

You'll have experience writing clean, well-engineered code in a .NET MVC environment, and have experience with Umbraco, SQL Server and Visual Studio. You'll be respectful of development standards and understand version control via GIT.

Ideally, you'll have experience with Azure Search, great Javascript skills, knowledge of Angular, and have worked in creating and consuming REST services.
