To be part of a team to assist in the delivery of the building standards service on behalf of the Depute Chief Planning Officer. To ensure that the Council’s functions under the Building Standards remit are delivered in an economic, efficient and effective manner, particularly in respect of the building warrant process, throughout the Scottish Borders.Essential
A Diploma/Degree in building surveying or equivalent formal qualification. Or substantial relevant experience in dealing with development applications, negotiations, plan vetting and dangerous buildings.
Proven record of relevant CPD training should be available.
Substantial proven experience within a Building Standards service.
Technical and legislative awareness of the statutes under which the service operates.
