We are seeking a knowledgeable and highly motivated person to deliver a range of programmes in the social services and healthcare field. These include SVQs in Social Services and Healthcare up to SCQF level 10 for part-time students, as well as Professional Development Awards (PDAs) in Supervision, Leadership, Management and Implementation of Change. There could also be opportunities for the right candidate to develop into teaching on degree programmes in their specialist subject area.
Educated to at least degree level in a social services or healthcare-related subject, you must have a high level of enthusiasm and passion for teaching this subject. Your strengths must include excellent communication skills, a capacity for positive engagement with people from all walks of life, and a thorough knowledge and experience of care provision in Argyll.
Possession of an up to date assessor award would be an advantage – if you don’t already have one, you will complete it in your first year with the college.
This post will include regular, weekly travel throughout Argyll to carry out support meetings with candidates, and observations in the workplace which will occasionally take place during evenings or weekends due to the shift patterns of your candidates. Where possible, a college car will be made available for travel. This post can be based in any of the Argyll College centres.
The successful applicant will be required to join Disclosure Scotland Protecting Vulnerable Adults Scheme (PVG).
