The Grog & Gruel has been trading on the High Street since 1994, and has a well established reputation for providing quality food in a relaxed and informal style.

Downstairs you'll find the Alehouse, where food is served from noon till nine all week. Cask and craft keg ales define the theme of the business, alongside a large range of malt whisky and Scottish distilled gins.

The restaurant is located upstairs, and is open daily from 5pm for our evening service, complementing the food offering in the alehouse.

Applications are invited for full time frontline staff for both bar and restaurant service. Hours are based on 40 per week, but during peak periods this may increased subject to mutual agreement. Weeks are based on working 5 days from 7, and will include a mix of straight and some split shifts. Weekend working is required, though rosters are arranged weekly and where possible are tailored to suit all staff as best as the demands of trade allow.

Positions are live out. No accommodation is available and applicants must have local accommodation confirmed before they can be considered.

A work place pension scheme is provided. Salary offered will be dependent on ability and experience. Staff take a share of gratuities, which can be signifcant.
