The overall purpose of the Workforce Planning team is to support NHS Grampian in the development of workforce capability, capacity and commitment, which will enable NHS Grampian to achieve the standards and delivery of care to which it aspires.  This role will work across NHS Grampian and the postholder will be expected to work with all grades and disciplines of staff. The postholder is expected to have relevant qualifications and experience which will enable the successful candidate develop into this new role and will be heavily involved in workforce related projects and workforce planning. 

Key result areas of the post will develop as the postholder becomes established in the role and the postholder has the opportunity to shape the role over time, however, the initial main areas of responsibility and measure of success will be in relation to the following:  

This post will support NHS Grampian to have the right skills at the right time in the right place through implementing robust workforce planning for the organisation, assisting with the implementation and evaluation of  Workforce strategies and Plans, to meet corporate and service objectives e.g. workforce planning, organisational development and management projects  

To provide high quality, innovative and appropriate Workforce Planning solutions using a wide range of professional expertise to meet corporate and service needs.  

To plan, manage and co-ordinate specific projects/initiatives delegated by Head of Workforce and Development or Workforce Service Manager or Service Manager for Learning & Development.  

To write and assist in the production of Workforce Reports which includes liaising with other workforce departments to collate information and the analysis of statistical and written information.  

To support services in the development of Workforce Plans and facilitate skills development.  

To interpret and advise on workforce information being mindful of the sensitivities and confidentiality of the information.  

To write and manage the production of Workforce Reports which includes liaising with other workforce departments to collate information alongside the analysis of statistical and written information.  

To promote continuous development and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and provide advice support and information to managers and staff.
