About the job
A large portion of your time will involve taking charge of the processing of the PAS 91 documents, ensuring that they meet the minimum standards, chasing up clients and creating your own reports.
To clarify you would be joining our expert team of trained and experienced assessors. The role requires the efficient and quick turn-around of assessments.
On top of these duties you will also be an additional resource supporting the wider team during consultations, tenders, document creation and research as business needs change and adapt. We are here to help you develop your career within Health & Safety your manager will set a development plan and support you along your way.
This is an Ideal position for a qualified health & safety consultant with some work experience within the construction industry. The role will involve assessment of many types of designers and contractors. There will also be opportunities to engage in the management of construction health and safety and implementation of the CDM Regulations
What is PAS 91 we hear you say?
“PAS 91 is a standardised pre-qualification questionnaire which has been developed to reduce the need for suppliers to complete a variety of different pre-qualification questionnaires for different, and in some cases, the same clients.”
The PAS 91 was developed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) and commissioned by the Government to create a common minimum standard for construction procurement. Acclaim Accreditation is the Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP) membership scheme which is provided by Capita Supplier assessment services. Acclaim uses the expertise and knowledge of Capita Property and infrastructure to appraise each application
About your team
Our Construction Health and Safety Team is an expanding group of twenty technically skilled specialists in Capita's Health and Safety Division. We specialise in the provision of the fullest range health and safety advice for the construction sector. We have two main team hubs one in Glasgow which you will be joining which is focused on servicing the north and providing administrative support and a main hub in London where the bulk of our consultants are based.
The ideal candidate
You will be a Health & Safety consultant with experience within a similar construction consultancy or you will be a graduate / junior looking for your first step on the H & S ladder. You will have a fantastic eye for detail and you will get a sense of accomplishment from completing tasks.
It is essential that you have relevant qualifications and a NEBOSH Certificate as these are required to sign off documents with your verified seal of approval.
Requirements (must have)
- Educated to degree level relating to construction or H&S (Professional qualifications will also be considered)
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly on assessments
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar technical or professional qualification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office IT systems
