Knox Academy is a state school situated in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland. At census 2017 the roll was 751. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming school accessible to all.
The curriculum provides a full range of subjects from S1-S6. We aim to meet the needs of all the pupils, providing a curriculum that is appropriate in terms of breadth, depth and challenge. Pupils are encouraged to access the extensive and varied menu of extra-curricular activities on offer.
The school currently has a three house system, with each Depute Head Teacher assigned overall responsibility for one house group.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and able to provide leadership in all aspects of school life. You will, in the first instance, be a leading professional with a proven track record of innovative teaching practice, high quality curriculum development and be committed to providing education of the highest quality. You will assist in the overall management of the school within the context of the leadership team. The focus of this depute post is currently curriculum development, timetable, staff development and SQA but may change depending on the review of remits at the end of session 2017/18.Job Details
The role of a Depute Head Teacher is to assist and, where necessary, to deputise for the Head Teacher as required. The role of the Head Teacher is, within the resources available, to conduct the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves, through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by East Lothian Council under the overall direction of the Head of Education.

Full GTCS Registration is required.
