Queensferry Community High School
Salary: £15,285 - £17,191 (pro rata for sessional working) plus living wage allowance if applicable
Hours: 36 per week, term-time only (40 weeks per year)
Queensferry Community High School is a non-denominational secondary school built in 1969, which serves the area of north west Edinburgh. It draws most of its students from Dalmeny, Echline, Kirkliston and Queensferry primary schools. The catchment area comprises of students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.
The school is firmly committed to raising attainment and promoting achievement. This is a whole school priority in improvement planning and reflects local, CEC and national priorities.
The school building includes bright and well maintained rooms. All departments are suited with integral staff bases and are generally well resourced and equipped. The school grounds are surrounded by car parks and playing fields. There is a security perimeter fence and close circuit television (CCTV) cameras are in operation. A vacancy has arisen for a full-time permanent Clerical Assistant in the main school office.
The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £8.51 per hour. Successful applicants will be paid the hourly rate as advertised, plus the allowance, in order to bring their earnings to £8.51 per hour.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
