ROLE DEFINITION

To develop, coordinate and implement a comprehensive communications, publicity and stakeholder engagement plan for the Better Off North Ayrshire services

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities

To manage/deliver the Service in accordance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures and relevant strategy provision To manage/deliver the service outcomes, in the most efficient and effective way, that delivers the Council’s Strategic Priorities within the Council Plan and contributes to the production of Directorate Plans To manage and monitor Capital and Revenue budgets as assigned and contribute to budget development To lead, or contribute to, the preparation of cross-service business development plans as required To ensure the effective management and leadership of employees where appropriate To prepare and co-ordinate reports for the Council, its Committees or working parties and to attend these meetings as required To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

Develop, co-ordinate and implement an information and publicity plan which will: Build the Better Off brand, promote the Better Off services and increase referrals into the service improve awareness of objectives, ambitions, challenges and performance bring greater consistency to the promotion of the services improve stakeholders' perceptions of the services enhance the public profile and satisfaction levels with the services In collaboration with corporate communications lead and facilitate information and publicity activity, including a social media strategy, to provide a more strategic, integrated and consistent approach to communicating and promoting the service Work collaboratively to develop and deliver targeted and creative promotional materials and public information in relation to operations Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Work collaboratively to source, collate and write information and publicity materials for internal and external use including printed visual campaigns Develop and implement a calendar of events and campaigns, with partnership participation and including targeted approached to key customer groups such as lone parents Attend team meetings and events of key stakeholders to promote Better Off and generate referrals to the services Liaise with Better Off delivery partners and support them to utilise their own communications channels to promote the services Assist in monitoring the communications budget Assist with the implementation and delivery of the Council's Digital Engagement Strategy, including contributing posts and updates and monitoring audience penetration and reaction Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of plans

HND in a relevant discipline e.g. communications, marketing or community development OR
equivalent experience
