Salary £29509- £33250 per annum (£16.17-£18.22 per hour)
Permanent full time position 
35 hours per week
Monday - Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner or Engineer to join a flexible team of professionals in delivering a high quality service within East Lothian Council Roads Services team. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has the knowledge and experience delivering and developing the full range of Transportation Engineering Services and Policy in relation to planning applications and other development related proposals, including road construction consents.

The candidate will need to be confident with excellent verbal and written communication skills who can quickly establish good working relationships. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Transport planners, Engineering staff and will engage with a wide and diverse audience including Technical and non-Technical. 

It is expected that the individual will be suitably qualified to degree level in Civil or Transport Engineering, Maths or Geographical Information System (GIS). You will be working in an office environment and will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within beautiful East Lothian . You will need to have an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service. Job Details

To assist the Team Manager in delivering and developing the full range of Transportation Engineering Services and Policy in East Lothian in relation to planning applications and other development related proposals, including road construction consents.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

Disclosure
