Community Support Assistants provide social, practical and emotional support for adults with disabilities within Fife Community Support Service. This support is provided in community based settings and can include lone working responsibilities.
You will provide positive support and encouragement for people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives.
The support you provide will be flexible and enable people to access activities and achieve their personal outcomes.
You will undertake a range of personal and physical care tasks, including manual handling, eating and drinking, administering medication and any other tasks in accordance with an individual’s care plan.
You will actively promote and ensure a high standard of care practice in accordance with the Health and Social care Standards and the Scottish Social Service’s Codes of practice.The Individual
You must have, in the first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF6 SVQ 2 qualification or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services registration.
You must have relevant experience of providing support to individuals with personal care needs and work with other team members in order to provide the level of support required for each individual.
It is essential that you have the ability to make effective decisions and manage and prioritise your workload, demonstrating that you can be flexible, innovative and creative in the support you provide.
