This is a new Senior Social Care Worker position in the service initially to have responsibility for management of all casual/relief workers in West Fife area of service. The successful candidate will report to a Lead Officer and carry out the full role and responsibilities of the Senior Social Care Worker position. This will include Induction and Supervision of staff, chairing regular team and professional development meetings and authorising payroll. Additional tasks will be allocated as necessary to meet the demanding needs of a very busy and dynamic service.
The successful candidate will undertake a range of management and care tasks supporting vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and mental health disorders. As a Senior Social Care Worker you will demonstrate leadership skills in an encouraging and supporting role. Providing “on the job” coaching as necessary, overseeing and monitoring working practices of Social Care Workers and Care Assistants. Working alongside other professionals, utilising sound practice and knowledge. Overseeing and contributing to care plans using key concepts within the Health and Social Care Standards, actively promoting and ensuring a high standard of care.
The successful candidate is required to be part of the emergency Standby system on a rota basis and be flexible in their working pattern which may include unsocial and weekend work, depending on the requirements of the service.The Individual
The successful candidate must have, in the first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF7 qualification which includes HNC or Advanced Highers or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration
Must gain additional supervisory or management qualification containing supervision or management theory and practice suitable for a supervisor of a care service with a minimum of 15 credits at SCQF level 7 or above.
Ability to travel throughout Fife
