The Communications Officer - Media is an exciting role within the Comms Team at Scottish Natural Heritage and has responsibility for delivering high profile communications for SNH – with a focus on media relations with traditional and digital media.

We are looking for a talented and inspirational Communications Officer – Media with excellent writing skills, who thrives in a fast-paced media environment and has a keen understanding of the political context of the work of SNH. You will have an excellent knowledge of Scotland’s media – national and local - and can confidently pitch compelling stories. You will join our multi-disciplined team responsible for the delivery of the internal and external communications aims of our recently published corporate plan ‘Connecting People & Nature 2018-2022’.

 

Working to the Publicity Manager, you will be confident developing communications activity with colleagues who are experts in science and policy, with our Senior Leadership Team, external partners and Scottish Government contacts. You will to build the reputation and reach of Scottish Natural Heritage at a time of complex political change.

 

Vacancy Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 per week

Starting Salary: £30,837
