You will have a sound knowledge of child development and early learning, and the flair and enthusiasm to deliver your subject to young students.  A key aspect of this course is the development of skills and knowledge that can inspire and motivate future career aspirations within the field of early learning.  There is also a strong emphasis on the development of transferrable employability skills which will benefit the students no matter what field they work in.  You can find more information at;  .

Payment will be at the standard Certificated hourly teaching rate, which is £30.21 per hour plus an hourly payment in lieu of £9.46, giving a total hourly rate of £39.67.

 

The course is SCQF level 4 and is taken by the pupils as one of their options.  The class hours are Monday 9:00 - 10:45, Tuesday 11:10 - 12:45, Wednesday 1:45 - 2:40, and all classes are taught on scholl premises.  Course starts 14th August 2018 finishing 24th April 2019.

If you are interested in a teaching career, this would be a good start.  You do not need to hold a teaching qualification just now, but the opportunity would be available for you to undertake a teaching qualification in your first year with the college.

Successful candidate will be subject to an application to join Disclosure Scotland Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
