Full Time Fixed Term Initially until 31 January 2019

CLD Youth Services delivers a range of youth learning opportunities in various settings across West Lothian. The two main elements of the service are:

developing the capacity of young people through targeted interventions and the provision of mainstream youth clubs; and offering support to young people requiring More Choices More Chances activities to assist them to progress into employment, education and training.

We are looking to recruit two dynamic youth work practitioners with good organisational skills, and experience of devising and delivering in school or post school youth work programmes to develop young people’s skills for life learning and work.

The Senior Youth Development Worker post involves direct face to face work with young people individually as well as in groups. Providing support and guidance to enable young people to achieve their learning goals. Creating wider achievement opportunities that help young people to gain accreditation and skills towards securing and sustaining positive destinations.

Experience of delivering youth work programmes within secondary schools and, or in a youth employability project would be beneficial.

Candidates must have relevant youth work skills, knowledge and experience.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
