South West Locality x 1 Salary: £24,029 - £28,688 Hours: 36 This post involves working closely with individuals, families, groups, communities and partners to promote a restorative approach to social inclusion, problem solving and community involvement. You will work in a holistically way with individuals, families and communities to understand and promote positive change and promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of Children, Families, Individuals and Communities. You will provide a person-centred, outcome focused, support to all age groups including vulnerable adult clients as well as families who may have children of a pre-school age or pregnant mothers where the unborn child is part of the household. You will focus on sound assessment and SMART action planning to support people to achieve positive outcomes, maintain tenancies, tackle inequality and isolation. The Senior Support Worker post involves taking a lead role in the recruitment, support and management of volunteers and you will also be expected to contribute to the professional development of the Family & Household Support Service and deputise for Team Leaders and take a lead in the development of new local and city wide projects and initiatives. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
