Undertake a range of personal and physical care tasks which may include assistance with washing, dressing, eating, and administration of medication.

Support and encourage people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives.

Providing flexible support enabling people to take part in activities and achieve their personal outcomes.

Actively promoting and ensuring a high standard of care practice in accordance with National Care Standards, ensuring individuals are treated in a respectful and dignified manner at all times.

Pushing and pulling of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs and use of emergency evacuation equipment whilst working within Health and Safety requirements.

Undertaking relevant training, taking ownership and being responsible for own continuous professional development, ensuring all required mandatory training and development needs are met within the required timescales.

Linking with other providers, statutory and voluntary agencies, including health, to develop positive working relationships compiling information on other relevant and available community resources.

The Individual Must have, in first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF6 SVQ3 qualification or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration. Ability to be innovative, creative and flexible Ability to engage with service users Communication skills Ability to manage and prioritise workload Team working skills Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements Experience/awareness of National Care Standards Ability to demonstrate initiative Knowledge of outcome focused approach Ability to evidence Continuous Professional Development Before confirming appointment you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.
