Relief Lifestyles Assistant
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£10.16 / £10.84 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate
The Lifestyles Service is located in Kirkwall with bases at the Pickaquoy Centre and St Colm's, providing person centred day services and opportunities for adults with a range of learning disabilities.
We are seeking to recruit someone who is highly motivated towards providing high quality services to adults with learning disabilities attending the Lifestyles Service.
The Lifestyles assistant will deliver a high standard of person centred, flexible and responsive support, working in partnership with the individual, promoting individuals rights.
The post involves assisting in supporting and maximising individuals independence, abilities and skills in a wide range of vocational, social, leisure and community settings, both on an individual or group basis to achieve the individuals identified outcomes from support plans. You will establish, develop and maintain effective and professional relationships with service users, carers, staff and other service providers. You will assist with individuals’ personal care requirements whilst in the Lifestyles Service or community as required.
To be appointed at G4 You should have a good general standard of education, including literacy and numeracy and achieve an SVQ2 in Social Services and Health Care within 3 years of appointment.
To be appointed at G5 You should hold a minimum of SVQ 2 in Social Services and Health Care or equivalent.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children and adults.
