Job Description

ScotSTAR (West) Neonatal Transport Team are looking to recruit two highly motivated individuals to join our established team. You will provide advanced clinical care to neonates and their families and will be expected to make management decisions about patient care with the support of the team. The Neonatal Transport Team is led by a core group of Neonatal Consultants with dedicated neonatal transport time who support and advise a team of experienced Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Senior Charge Nurse/Coordinators and Neonatal Nurses.

Clinical retrieval services across NHS Scotland have amalgamate under the umbrella of ScotSTAR an exciting and world class integrated national retrieval service incorporating Neonatal, Paediatric and Adult Retrieval Services, the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. The West Neonatal team transfers in excess of 800 babies per annum within a transport service which has incorporated technological advances in neonatal intensive care and has capability for the use of HFVO, NCPAP, inhaled nitric oxide, phototherapy and servo-controlled systemic hypothermia during transfers. Due to the geography of the West of Scotland the west team has accrued considerable air transport expertise utilising the fixed wing and rotary air assets of the Scottish Air Ambulance Service.

Requirements

You will have teaching responsibilities and will provide specialist education and deliver training programmes to allied professional groups and will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical audit and service developments within the team.

Current NMC Registration (adult/child branch) is essential and you will be educated to Masters Level with an ANNP Diploma with qualification as an independent/supplementary prescriber.

Transport experience, although desirable, is not necessary as training will be given in all aspects of the post.
