It is East Lothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be placed on the first point of the salary scale.

Salary £23340- £25512 per annum pro rata (£12.79-£13.98 per hour)
Temporary part time position until January 2020
17 hours 30 minutes per week, 09.00-17.00
Days of Work:
Week 1 :Thursday & Friday 
Week 2 : Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 
To start : November 2018

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council's Homeless Team at a time when homelessness is at the heart of the Scottish Government policy agenda. You will join an established team with responsibility for assessing homelessness and identifying housing and support needs.

 

Job Details

To provide a comprehensive professional service which meets the Council's legal and policy obligations towards households in East Lothian who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. To provide enhanced assessment, to households making application under the homelessness legislation, resulting in the identification of housing and other support needs, to arrange for any identified support needs to be met by making appropriate referrals and to co-ordinate the services being used by the applicant.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications

Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in housing, health or social work and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Have completed (or within the first year of employment be prepared to join the earliest programme towards completing) training in National Standards in Housing Advice • Information at Level 2.

 

Driving Licence

As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
