Job Description Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. Assistant Sports Coaches for Gymnastics/Trampoline, Football, Athletics or Tennis are required, on a casual basis, to deliver classes within the current citywide sports programme. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure and Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £7.34 per hour. As the hourly rate is below the Living Wage, a supplement has been incorporated into your hourly rate to bring your earnings up to the equivalent of £8.51 per hour. Requirements You will hold a UKCC Level 1 in Scottish Gymnastics, Trampoline, Athletics or Tennis or a SFA 1.1 Children’s/Youth pathway. Responsibilities As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport section, you will assist in the delivery of the Gymnastics, Trampoline, Football or Athletics programmes for Leisure & Culture Dundee, coaching to a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering, where relevant, to Scottish Governing Body (SGB) guidelines and specified coach to participant ratios. The Individual You will have a general interest in Gymnastics, Trampoline, Football, Athletics or Tennis and have experience of working with primary school aged children and experience in assisting practical paid / voluntary sports coaching working with children from a variety of backgrounds in a physical setting. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work in a team and work independently. You must be strongly self-motivated with excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with children and young people. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and you must be flexible and adaptable. You must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekend work where required, as well as undertaking personal development. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
