Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Library Assistant.
What we can offer you
We are seeking a Library Assistant to help our existing Library team provide a comprehensive library and information service to our students and staff. The focus of your role will be to help library user’s access and use resources such as books, computers, DVDs, photocopiers and a wide variety of electronic resources. You will assist in supervising the study area to ensure compliance with the library code of conduct and help promote library services to learners.

What you can offer us
You will have at least an HND or equivalent in Library and Information Science, or a relevant subject, while experience of working in an information environment would be desirable. Understanding of accessing online resources and e-books is essential for this role. You will have experience of working in a customer service environment, enjoy helping people, have a flexible approach to work and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As you will be required to work at the other campuses from time to time and also work on your own in the evenings the ability to work as part of a team and to use your own initiative is essential.
The successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
