Social Work Resources
Location: Unpaid Work Service, Auchintibber, East Avenue, High Blantyre, G72 0JB
Hours: 32 hours per week / 3 posts - 16 hours per week
Social Work Resources have been redesigning elements of the delivery of its Unpaid Work service. The unpaid work service works with and monitors those who are subject to a Court Disposal of a Community Payback Order (Unpaid Work & Other Activity Requirement) or a Fiscal Work Order and are undertaking unpaid work in the community.
The role of the unpaid work placement supervisor is to oversee a group of service users who are undertaking unpaid work in a variety of locations and undertaking a variety of tasks. You must be able to motivate and supervise service users to undertake manual work within the community. You will work as part of team to plan, organise and supervise service users to carry out a wide variety of tasks that are of benefit to the local community.
Previous experience of supervising adults desirable but not essential.
The ability to work outdoors is essential and basic manual skills to competent D.I.Y level and experience of operating basic garden machinery would be desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work across all areas within South Lanarkshire.
Requirements Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad. This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by South Lanarkshire Council.
