We are currently looking to recruit youth workers for our casual staff database. You should note that hours will not be guaranteed and successful applicants will be contacted to cover mostly 2.5 hour shifts as and when required (usually evenings 6.30 – 9.00pm for blocks of 10 weeks during school term times in West Lothian)
We seek dynamic and creative people who are willing to work as part of a team in a changing and exciting setting and are keen to engage positively with young people.
Salary will depend on youth work experience and role (£8.38 - £10.91 per hour).

Key duties of the post are:Working with young people in a youth work setting Involving young people in planning and running activities Engaging positively with groups of young people Having an awareness of young people’s issues and development needs Working as part of a small team and reporting to the Senior Youth Worker or Community Education Worker Ensuring a safe and positive environment for young people to thrive
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
