Job Description

You will take the lead role in ensuring the on-going development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Comhairle’s Local Housing Strategy in compliance with statutory requirements. You will be responsible for the working of the Local Housing Strategy multi-agency officers group, liaise with the Scottish Government and other national and statutory agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach is taken in the development of the LHS. You will represent the Comhairle at other national and local consultation training events relevant to the development of the LHS and ensure that the Comhairle has access to the most current information on housing issues, new legislation and policy change.

Requirements

You must be educated to post-graduate level and have at least three years recent experience of working in a Housing organisation along with experience of partnership working with other agencies. You will have detailed practical knowledge of national housing policy and practice and knowledge of the Local Housing Strategy and its development process. It is essential that you are IT literate and proficient in the use of Office packages, have the ability to prepare and present Committee Reports, and produce policy and strategy documents.

 

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.
