An opportunity has arisen to join a well-established SVQ Team within Midlothian Council’s Practice Learning & Development Team. The SVQ Team works across Health & Social Care, Children Services and Education to deliver a range of SVQs. There are staff members in all areas of these services who are in posts required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The team has responsibility to deliver a range of opportunities to complete the qualifications required in these posts
The post requires an enthusiastic and committed individual with good communication and motivational skills; plus experience in Children’s Services settings
It is essential that you have LD9DI or equivalent and relevant qualification which SQA recognise as authorising assessment up to SCQF Level 7, and be working towards assessing up to SCQF Level 9/10.
It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice
You should have proven experience of assessing within a care setting indicating a thorough knowledge of SQA requirements for assessing and verifying.
It would be desirable if you have Management or supervisory experience within a care setting, and knowledge of the requirements of qualifications up to SCQF Level 9/10 (SVQ 4)
Also it would be desirable if you are prepared to work towards an Internal Verification Award (LD11 or equivalent)
Must hold a registerable Care qualification at SVQ Level 7 and be working towards (or hold) a Care qualification equivalent to SCQF Level 9/10 (i.e. SVQ 4).
Also hold L&D9DI (Assessor Qualification) or equivalent
