Based in the Corporate Procurement Unit, within the Chief Executive’s Department and reporting to the Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying and delivering savings from the strategic procurement process and the council’s commercial spend profile. This will include working with commodity owners, procurement officers, suppliers, service areas and audit to facilitate robust demand management to support and identify areas of non-compliant spend.
You will be responsible for monitoring contract spend to support contract compliance and identify potential future tendering/cost saving opportunities. This will include interrogating supplier management information, manipulation and analysis of complex data and providing insightful and meaningful business intelligence reports to senior management and relevant committees, across a wide variety of financial and procurement information.
You will assist commodity owners to ensure that the service being provided is in line with the scope of the contract and is being developed to maximise the value for the council.
