The Early Intervention Team offer support to families who are facing difficulties. The early Intervention team provide direct services to children, young people and families in a way that best suit their needs, and is provided within the home. 

The role of an Early Intervention worker is to build strong partnerships with other agencies who are involved in the life of the family and work in collaboration with them to ensure a seamless provision of service to the family. This includes Education, Social Work and Health The Early Intervention worker will help the family lead their own assessment, focusing on existing strengths and building resilience. The family along with the worker will identify the areas for support and agree outcomes, which work towards resolving problems within an agreed period.

Key to early interventions being successful is the development of good relationships with families and the ability to provide a holistic and person centred approach which maintains, develops and nurtures the family dynamic. Direct work with the families will be evidence based and a range of approaches will be available to suit the individual needs of the family. Individual pieces of work can be identified for the child/children, parents or the whole family depending on the agreed family support plan.

Additional Information The grade of this post is G/H Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,094 per annum This post is career graded - your salary and career progression will depend on your experience and qualifications Temporary Full Time post for 37.0 Hours per Week, 52.18 weeks per year - Temporary contract for a period of approximately 11 months. This is for the duration of a period of family leave, and will terminate following the return to work or resignation of the postholder Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made The successful candidate will have to complete registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of the agreed start date A relocation package does not apply to this post We will pay interview expenses from within Shetland The successful candidate will be subject to satisfactory Pre-Employment Medical screening with our Occupational Health provider Not suitable for Job Share Not suitable for Remote Working You must hold a valid driving licence and have a suitable vehicle for use during your employment, or the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited
