The post holder is responsible for delivering aspects of the Plan for Fife – Kirkcaldy Area. Specifically those actions relating to family work priorities within the four Neighbourhood Development Areas.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Increase the uptake of universal services by parents and families primarily from the Neighbourhood Development Areas Improve coordination of services and information sharing at a neighbourhood level Enable families to become better connected with each other and encourage a spirit of cooperation and mutual support within their community Increase the ability of families to identify needs/set goals and create solutions whilst making the best use of resources and knowledge within their local community. Coordinate and facilitate Family Fun partnership projects across the Neighbourhood Development areas Increase earlier interventions with those families identified as more vulnerable due to poverty and disadvantage, reducing isolation by encouraging engagement in locally based activities. Support the development of sustainable and collaborative approaches to service delivery at a local level Using an asset based approach, increase the skills, confidence and ability of local parents and families to engage in service planning and the delivery of sustainable community based activity With partners develop and implement a progression bridge to service access between differing levels of need

Develop the role of volunteers in supporting evolving family services within the Neighbourhood Development Areas

The Individual

You must have the ability to engage positively with families and develop strong, positive and trusting relationships in order to support them. You will also have experience of working with support services and partner organisations.

You will have experience of keeping records & evidence of work in an organised manner.

You must be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a Degree or equivalent recognised by the Community Learning Development (CLD) Standards Council (Scotland) for full registration.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
