We are recruiting for a Financial Analyst as part of the Networks Finance team. The principal responsibilities will be for providing actionable analysis and transaction support - ensuring the beneficial delivery of high value connectivity contracts & projects. The role will have a significant amount of interaction with the business providing Management Information (MI) to the Commercial & Operations leadership. The roleholder will, from time to time face in to the Customer.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the role is interactive with the business and, working with the Service Delivery and Commercial teams, is responsible for the capture and reporting of activity across the whole life of the contract / projects - including maintaining appropriate models, procedures and documentation. In addition, the role will work with the Finance Business Partner to identify and develop opportunities for improvements in Management Information (MI) and process efficiency across the Finance function - including its' interactions with the wider CAPITA Networks team. The role will include ownership of the following, relating to both income, costs and work in progress:

  • Billing & Revenue Assurance
    • Manage the billing and revenue assurance process to ensure timely, accurate & complete invoicing and revenue recognition
    • From time to prepare provide ad hoc breakdown of the CMDB Equipment and Circuits
    • Updating the Financial Model/Payment Schedule every 4 weeks for submission to the Customer for approval and authorisation to invoice
    • Performance Assurance Fund
      • Oversight and day to day operation and control of the Performance Assurance Fund
    • Maintain the Financial Model / Payment Schedule (Excel Models) for changes in the Customer Master Database (CMDB)
  • Commercial Support
    • Support & review as required pricing methodology & processes used in preparation of Variations and Works Orders
    • Business partner with Sales to shape bids and pricing for new opportunities to drive return on investment for the program as part of bid process
  • Project Accounting & Cost Management
    • Checking high value equipment purchase quotes to bid approval values
    • Work with the contract management team to ensure project costs are recorded efficiently and effectively and in line with expectation
    • Support management of key supplier relationships (I-Tech) ensuring VFM
    • Periodic reconciliation of circuit inventory to Veropath /CMDB (Inward Carrier Billing / Revenue Assurance)

  • Business Planning & Accounting
    • Support the annual budgeting & monthly forecasting process including AXIOM updates
    • Support month-end close time-table with respect to journals, reconciliations and analysis
    • Working with the Finance Business Partner, ensure lifetime model is maintained for assumptions and CMDB information
  • Other
    • Provide ad hoc analysis and support to local and divisional management
    • Educate and promote good practice with respect to governance, procedure and compliance

What you'll need

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Qualified Accountant with 2 or more years' experience or Part-Qualified / QBE with 4 years' experience in a similar role
    • Ability to handle large volumes of data accurately and efficiently
    • Process management experience including implementation of critical success factors or quality assurance
    • High end Excel skills, capable of maintaining and creating complex Excel models
    • General ledger query and balance sheet reconciliation
    • Budget / Forecast preparation - P&L, Balance Sheet & Working Capital
    • Management information development
    • Business partnering / Influencing non-Finance stakeholders
  • Working with an integrated MRPII / ERP accounting system
  • Large company exposure > 500 employees - within private sector company and a commercial environment or through audit & assurance activity in similar environment

Desired Experience/Skills

  • SAP General Ledger/Invoice Billing
  • Telecoms industry experience
  • Process improvement and change management
  • Working in a project accounting environment

Location

The role will be based at one of Capita Networks existing offices - either in Tannochside, Reigate or Central London. The role-holder will be expected to travel from time to time to Capita plc / Capita Networks offices across the UK. Some business travel outside the U.K. may be required from time to time.
