Becoming a Test Lead with Capita Life, Pensions & Specialist:

A chance to be instrumental in supporting the test delivery function within the Glasgow account. You will be responsible for managing the test activities on small to medium sized projects to ensure successful delivery of change to agreed time, cost and quality standards, whilst supporting other testers within the team.

What you will do:

• Reporting progress at agreed intervals to the project manager/senior test manager including provision of accurate test updates, engaging and communicating effectively with key stakeholders
• Providing clear direction, motivation and leadership within the test team
• Management of the test activities and resources on a day to day basis to deliver in line with agreed project plans
• Execution of test plan, monitoring progress and taking all necessary actions and escalations where appropriate, ensuring testing is delivered to specified requirements and meets agreed time, cost, quality, TCF and compliance objectives
• Estimation of test activities and definition of required deliverables adhering to defined governance models
• Development of appropriate risk-based planning to meet project needs
• Identifying potential improvements as part of a wider Test Competency
• Risk identification, documentation and impact assessment, including action mitigation

Your experience will include:

• A proven track record of leading testing in a delivery environment
• Solid experience of the full project lifecycle, experience of working within a project services/IT environment delivering change and/or transformation projects
• Able to demonstrate effective and productive stakeholder management, must be able to lead, motivate and manage test teams
• Being familiar with test management tools such as HP Quality Centre and other industry standard tools
• Ability to apply a flexible test approach to successfully deliver to tight deadlines or changing scope
• Ability to prioritise and multi task in a challenging working environment with excellent organisational skills
• Having strong influencing skills and ability to apply an appropriate level of challenge to ensure positive outcome
• Being able to encourage development of others through knowledge sharing to negate the risk of key man dependencies and build productive relationships with functions outside of the project team
• Be able to demonstrate strong customer focus and communicate in business language, whilst operating effectively in a commercial environment
