The Senior Marine Electronic Engineer is responsible to the Team Leader - Port Engineering and is part of a multi disciplinary team of maintenance personnel. The Senior Marine Electronic Engineer is responsible for undertaking a range of electrical and electronic maintenance and repair work on all radar, radio communication, aids to navigation and associated plant and equipment operated by Port Operations. The post holder is required to be on call for periods of time.

Specific tasks of the Senior Marine Electronic Engineer include:To provide a check of the serviceability of the VTS electronic systems, which include, but not limited to radar displays and trackers, system software, VHF communications, voice and video recorders, navigation light telemetry and weather/swell monitoring systems; To provide scheduled and unscheduled servicing on the electronic equipment on all SIC owned harbour vessels; To provide scheduled servicing on all necessary equipment and systems, which includes equipment located at remote sites associated with the VTS in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, and keep records of such servicing. Must have possession of a recognised apprenticeship/SVQ level 3 in electronic engineering.
Must have five years post qualification experience in marine electronic engineering environment.
Must have experience of working in hazardous area's in accordance with BS 5501
Must be willing to work flexible and/or unsocial hours as and when required and be available for standby.
Must have a current driving licence.
