To lead the development of a co-produced regional Marine Protected Area (MPA) management plan with the communities and maritime stakeholders of the Outer Hebrides.

Scotland’s MPA network plays an important role in helping conserve our marine environment but further work is required to ensure that the network is well-managed. This INTERREG VA funded MarPAMM* project is aimed at delivering conservation and other benefits for the Outer Hebrides and integrating with wider marine planning.

The focus of this post is to bring together communities, organisations and sectoral interests to develop a shared vision for the seas of the Outer Hebrides and deliver a co-produced MPA management plan for the Outer Hebrides marine region.

We are seeking someone with expertise in multi-stakeholder engagement, project management, marine planning or policy development preferably with a background in marine ecology or marine resource management. Knowledge of the Outer Hebrides and the Gaelic language would also aid the delivery of the project.

*MarPAMM: A project supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Closing date: midnight 6 November 2018.
