We are an ambitious Council, transforming what we do and how we do it to best serve the people of Fife. A vital element of this is ensuring that our catering, cleaning, janitorial and facilities management functions are operating effectively both across the Council and to external clients.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Catering & Cleaning and Facilities Management function, providing professional advice and recommendations to senior management, elected members and stakeholders.


You will be educated to degree level with significant post-qualification experience in successful delivery of a large frontline service function involving considerable customer engagement. You will have experience of managing a senior team associated with the above, developing and driving delivery of strategies, action plans and monitoring/reporting arrangements as well as managing a large budget, and working at a senior level to influence, persuade, challenge, assure and advise to ensure legislative compliance and discharge of statutory functions.


You will shape, lead and drive delivery of a large mixed functional service, ensure co-ordination of strategies, plans and reporting that evidences performance, controls and governance. You will innovate and lead change, making best use of resources and technologies to ensure our processes and systems remain well-managed and position us to meet the changes and opportunities ahead.

You will have the experience and enthusiasm to identify and respond positively, flexibly, and pragmatically to emerging issues. You’ll have the confidence and credibility to contribute as a leader, working in a senior role in a political and partnership environment. You will have the skills to manage significant staffing and budgetary responsibilities, and ensure fulfilment of statutory functions and business critical activity.
