Job Description

There are 3 posts as detailed below:

1 Permanent - 20 hours per week 

1 Fixed Term until 01/10/2019 - 20 hours per week

1 Permanent - 16 hours per week

The posts are part-time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.

The posts are based between 2 Community Connections either Dalmuir Locality Centre, Clydebank or 87 Bank Street, Alexandria.

The work patterns for the posts will be 5 days over 7 inclusive of alternative weekend work and occasional evenings. This will be on a rotas basis and this rota is provided 6 weeks in advance. The successful applicants will join a team providing flexible and innovative support to those with a learning disability, using a person centred approach. The post holders will offer support and guidance, enable individuals to maximise their potential whilst working within a building based service and the wider community.

The post holder must comply with all national and local policy and legislation relating to the role as well as the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) codes of conduct.

 

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
