The Insights & Analytics (I&A) practice is a multi-disciplined team of ambitious experts in pensions, insurance, finance and risk modelling, data management and enterprise solutions, and aims to service the increasing demand for specialist support in the market. The I&A practice advises clients directly as well as supporting our teams of actuarial and investment consultants on the thoughtful and joined-up management of our clients' enterprise-wide risks.

Playing a pivotal role in the development of I&A solutions, this is a technical, hands on role working with cutting edge technology and processes. Helping to develop and test our range of pension scheme asset, liability and risk models to ensure the model output is accurate and products are high quality and usable, this extends to both functional testing (business logic and calculation methodology) and non-functional testing (user experience and system performance). Using business knowledge and experience, this role will also help shape the way we develop and test our models to ensure we keep pace with evolving technologies and client needs.
You will be working in our Market Solutions team and the role will vary depending on the project and team in which you are working. Some QAs may have a software focus whilst others may have a model/domain focused role and some may be heavily involved in Business Analyst activities. There are therefore many specialisms and opportunities for development within this role.
Using a consultative approach, you will be providing transparency for all project partners on the level of quality and risk on a project. You will be working collaboratively with Business Analysts, Delivery Leads, Developers and QA Analysts to ensure a suitable quality assurance approach is designed and implemented appropriate to the risk profile of the product.
You will be supporting other team members with defect management and root cause analysis, sharing your findings and ensuring root causes are dealt with appropriately. You will also be increasing the team's maturity around functional, usability and portability quality.
You will bring a background of software testing and quality assurance practices to your role and have experience of risk based and exploratory based test techniques. You will use exceptional communication skills to work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Delivery Leads and fellow Quality Assurance professionals. You will also provide strong problem solving skills and technical expertise.
Knowledge of software test life cycles, quality approach design and planning, defect classification, root cause analysis and excellent core software testing expertise is a must in this role. You will have a strong background in test planning, quality monitoring and management of product risk.
You will have a proven ability to work on a portfolio of projects with internal and external stakeholders and be at least ISTQB Certified Test Foundation level certified with ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst level certified preferred.
Cloud native principles and techniques such as Microservices, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery is desirable, as is exploiting test automation frameworks and tools. Hands on experience with accuracy, suitability, interoperability, usability and accessibility testing is beneficial.
Key responsibilities will include
Designing product quality approach, test planning, monitoring quality and test metrics and product risks
Implementing and executing risk based feature tests in collaboration with delivery team partners
Evaluating and ensuring the visibility of test results and quality monitoring to key stakeholders
Defect management, including defect classification and root cause analysis
Release cycle management and version control
Adhering to the firm's Information Security standards, policies and procedures
Maintaining a high degree of collaboration with the delivery team and Quality Assurance function
Sharing knowledge and expertise across the quality assurance function and wider technology community
Active contribution towards the quality assurance function's strategy
