Lecturer in Art & Design

21 hours per week
Permanent
£33,442 - £39,732 pro rata (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Orkney College UHI is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post in the Art & Design Department. The department offers a wide academic range of study, from introductory level, NC, BA honours and Masters Degree. You will be based at Orkney College and be part of a small team working across the wider network in Creative Industries in the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Art & Design at UHI has a reputation for creative excellence, providing learners with opportunities to work with an interdisciplinary approach, across a range of media, whilst engaging with our thriving creative and cultural community.

The post involves:
• Module delivery and assessment, management and quality control.
• Supporting students at different academic levels
• Programme administration and development
• Scholarship and research related to both the pedagogy of art & design and to the specialism of your own practice.


Applicants must be qualified to honours degree level in a relevant subject and have teaching or training experience in the subject area. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience of course leadership.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children and adults.
