Lecturer in Hairdressing (2 posts)
1 x 7 hours per week

£33,442- £39,732 pro rata to 31/3/2019 then £34,094 - £42,120 pro rata (Including Distant Islands Allowance)
Orkney College UHI offers basic qualifications in hairdressing, including commercial short courses, Skills for Work, and National Certificate in Hairdressing at Level 5.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to deliver on Skills for Work and/or NC Hairdressing in academic year 2018/19. The Skills for Work post is for 7 hours per week, the NC Hairdressing is for 9 hours per week. There is the opportunity for one post holder to undertake both roles dependent on applicant experience and availability.
Applicants must be qualified to at least SVQ3 or equivalent level in Hairdressing, have recent experience of hairdressing which demonstrates practical hairdressing skills, and experience of supporting others in a salon environment. A knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements, along with knowledge of the range of qualifications pertinent to hairdressing is also required.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
