Glasgow Caledonian University is a vibrant multi-cultural modern university in the centre of Glasgow and is placed amongst the top 150 modern Universities in the world (THE, 2017).
Within the university, the work that the School for Work Based Education (SWBE) undertakes is a cornerstone of GCU’s mission as the University for the Common Good.
A core aspect of our international work is the identification of university to business education opportunities with corporate, public and third sector organisations operating internationally. We seek to design and deliver education and solutions that enhance the growth and success of these client organisations through the development of their people in terms of knowledge, skills, qualification and professionalisation.
We currently have a unique opening to join this specialised team as Solutions Lead for Transnational Education. This is a new and critical role to GCU’s transnational university to business education activity and is envisaged to work at the heart of academic enhancement, design and delivery of educational solutions to clients, through SWBE, and in partnership with the wider academic schools at GCU.
We are looking for an individual who thrives on working with a diverse range of stakeholders, displays cultural awareness and is passionate about designing, developing and refining a methodology that positions GCU as an exemplary provider of transnational work-based education for organisations and businesses whose requirements might be in health, engineering, computing or operations management to name but a few examples.
We are looking for an individual who can act a liaison point between employers, the SWBE relationship managers and the designated work based Programme Leaders. You may be an academic or a solutions-based professional with extensive experience in project and accounts management and with excellent communication and relationship building skills.
It will be an exciting and demanding role – you will be coaching transnational partners managing employers’ expectations and spend a lot of time travelling internationally. You will need stamina, creativity and a solutions-based approach to all your work. The role will be based in Glasgow with requirement to travel extensively abroad.
We look for candidates with high ethical values and integrity that matches the values of GCU, the University for the Common Good.
