COSLA are recruiting a receptionist to work full-time from January 2019 to the end of March 2019. Undertaking reception duties at COSLA’s front desk in Edinburgh, including being the first point of contact on the main telephone line, transferring calls and taking messages appropriately.
This is a fixed-term contract until 29 March 2019.
Undertaking various facilities administration duties, being first point of contact for building maintenance related issues.
Providing general clerical support within the events team, and to COSLA via SMT and/or thematic teams eg. assisting with travel arrangements, taxi bookings, ordering stationery etc. Responsibilities

The post-holder will be based at the COSLA Main Office front desk at Verity House, 19 Haymarket Yards, Edinburgh, EH12 5BH.
The COSLA main office is also a busy conference centre and the successful candidate will be expected to act as a courteous, efficient and professional first point of contact for those entering the building and those calling on the main phone line. Training on the telephone system will be given.
In terms of facilities administration, they will be expected periodically to check on various matters around the building and immediate surroundings. They will also be first point of contact for building maintenance related issues. Duties here will include liaising with the various contractors who undertake maintenance on the main COSLA office building infrastructure, eg heating systems, access controls, health and safety related functions
They will also, from time to time, be expected to undertake other general clerical duties for COSLA’s Senior Management Team and thematic teams within the organisation.
COSLA is looking for a proactive and motivated individual who is IT literate, friendly and welcoming, practically minded and able to deal with a variety of different tasks in an efficient and timely fashion.
